What is Kemistry Sounds?

Kemistry Sounds is fully independent, licenced and insured offering LIVE MUSIC and DJ SERVICES in Perth. Our motivation is to see you and your guests have the best event possible;  we're passionate and professional about all aspects of our music and strive to make your function one to remember forever!

 

What types of events do you provide service for?

We can provide live music and DJ services for Weddings, Corporate Parties and other occasion types of events.

 

Why we charge what we charge?

A lot of work goes into ensuring your special day goes off with out a hitch and its everything you hope and expect. Our charges reflect our quality in music, equipment, our endless rehearsal times, and all the other costs associated with bringing you a fabulous and memorable performance.

What styles of music do you play?

We pride ourselves as a unique Live music and DJ service - and we have a great collection of party, Dance Disco, Club, RnB, Motown and Top 40 tracks. We also know you'll love our huge collection of hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000's. What about the old classics? Of course! We have access to anything you could imagine, whether the artist is Canadian, American, Italian, British etc.

How much space does your band need?

On average a clear floor space of 3 x 2 metres is required with a head height of 3 metres, (please enquire if you are needing us to down size). Adequate power supply needs to be made available within easy reach of the performance area. If other entertainment is booked adequate floor space must be available.

What types of equipment do you use and do you plug in to other venues sound systems?

We use the highest of quality in music equipment of our own.

Some venues have sound limiters, which sometimes can be very tricky for live bands & DJ'S to work with. If the set up is not carefully done and the worse should happen.....power is cut to the stage area leaving the band with no sound and a ruined night for you and your guest! All of the instumentation runs through our PA system, unlike a regular live band drum kit, This means we have complete control of the volume and can easily work within the sounds limits set and liaise with your venue to ensure everything runs smoothly...no power cuts, no hassle and no nasty surprises! ( i.e Bad quality in house systems)

How much do you charge?

Bookings are priced according to the event's location and timings (ie setup/start/finish).

How early should I confirm a booking?

We tend to get booked well in advanced and the later you leave it the less chance of availability you'll have. A booking is only confirmed once your deposit fee has been paid and the signed booking form has been returned.

 

How do I confirm my booking?

I will email a contract to you which would need to be signed and returned with the deposit fee. The booking is then confirmed. 

 

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally ask for 1-2 hours to set up and undertake sound checks. This varies from venue to venue depending on the ease of access. It can often take longer in Marquee's due to their location. (There may be times where we require more time to set up if more equipment is required)

 

Can we choose the music for the Band?

You can select from our live entertainment setlist and advise us of particular favourites and or definite no-nos from our play list. You can be in safe hands that our team is experienced enough at reading the crowd during the evening and will choose the right songs at the right time. We tailor the music to suit each event and age-range of guest. 

Our professional and experienced DJ's also have all those choosen hits you request!!!

 

Will you do a special song for our first dance?

If your choice of ceremony first dance songs are not on our playlist then yes of course we would love too, as long as we are given enough notice to arrange and learn the songs for you. There will be no charge for this, Kemistry Sounds would like this to be our wedding gift to you!!!

 

Do you use smoke or haze machines?

Yes we do but some venues will not allow us to use them and are not permitted due to smoke alarms. 

 

Do you have public liability insurance?

We do and all of our equipment is tested and tagged. You can be rest assured you are safe in our hands.

 

Will you have contact with the venue?

We will liaise directly with the venue on your behalf to check accessibility, space, power and discuss any issues before the event. When necessary we will undertake a site visit if an unknown venue, and only if its within reasonable travelling distance.

 

How do we book the band or DJ?

Once you are happy with the quote or chosen wedding package we will issue you with a contract, which needs to be signed and returned with your deposit. No wedding booking is confirmed until a $350.00 deposit is received and returned along with our booking contract. Payment will be deducted from your total price and an invoice will be sent to you confirming all details.
